Hjertebogen (Thott 1510,4º) dates back to ca. 1550, henceforth it is the oldest surviving danish manuscript, which contains folkeviser. It contains 83 ballads (3/4 love ballads), which are mostly written by one hand, except for ballad #66. One peculiarity of the book is its heart-shaped form, which in some sense mirrors its content.
Semi-diplomatic and partially normalized transcriptions are taken from https://duds.nordisk.ku.dk/tekstresurser/aeldste_danske_viseoverlevering/viseboegerne/, albeit not all original text-stylistic features are available. More information at duds.nordisk.ku.dk.

This project shows a possible static (and easy) implementation of a digital edition of the aforementioned book. The implementation is based on R-markdown and uses the R-package flexdashboard for the sake of layout and style.
